Brief info

Lazar is completing his PhD in the Department of law of the European University Institute under the supervision of Professor Giorgio Monti. His working thesis title is “Rethinking the Metaphysics of Competition Law: Neoliberal Political Philosophy in EU Competition Law”. In the thesis, he explores the interplay between different strands of liberalism and the rules regulating competition from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Prior to starting his PhD, Lazar practiced competition law for three years in top tier law firms in Serbia and Spain, where he is a qualified attorney. He holds an LL.M in EU and International Law from the University of Amsterdam (Cum Laude, Master's Thesis Prize), and degrees in Law and Political Science from the University of Madrid. Starting in January 2022, he will be Adjunct Professor of Law at IE University, Madrid.
